Superior Sound or Perfect Picture
Jul 2, 2009
When choosing the right entertainment system for your home, it’s important to weigh your options. You want to find equipment that fits your budget and offers that great picture and sound that you love, but what turns out to be the better investment? Should you spring for “right-in-the-action” sound or “just-like-you’re-there” picture?
The truth is that so many homeowners who purchased great sound systems five or ten years ago are still enjoying fabulous quality – a great point brought up in a recent Cnet.com article. In contrast, several new picture formats have come out in the past few years, including Blu-ray and HD-DVD. While these two formats deliver better pictures, it can be frustrating when you go to hook up your new, compatible DVD player only to find that there are no proper places to hook up cables or that the player lacks HDMI switching.
If you’re looking to make an investment into your quality of entertainment, stick with the sound. Even systems that seem complicated and expensive now will prove to be much easier and cheaper in the long run.
